Flapjacks and Tea

Enjoy tucking into your Blackfriars flapjack during your mid-morning tea break?  Here are is a fact that you might not have known about tea to consider as you enjoy your tea and flapjack this morning.

Tea is produced in three different ways which produce three distinct types: Black, Green and Oolong.

1. Green Tea: this is produced in a non-oxidising way by drying and steaming the tea leaves.
2. Black Tea: These teas undergo a fermentation stage that oxidises the leaves before they are dried and steamed.
3. Oolong Tea: These undergo a part fermentation process before they are dried.

Enjoy tucking into your Blackfriars flapjack during your mid-morning coffee break?

Here are is a fact that you might not have known about coffee to consider as you enjoy your coffee and flapjack this morning.  While darker coffee roasts like French roast coffee seem stronger than light coffee roasts, they actually have less caffeine than their lighter counterparts. That’s because some of the caffeine is destroyed when the coffee beans are subjected to high heat for longer periods.

You might not think that eating large numbers of flapjacks are the best way lose weight and get in shape, but that’s just what Ricky Hatton did in the run up a big fight.

His nutritionist, Kerry Kayes revealed to Sky News the secrets of the punishing regime that turns “Ricky Fatton” into 147lbs of world-class fighting machine.

Rather than tucking into hearty steak dinners, Hatton will bid for the title of best pound-for-pound fighter on the planet having munched his way through a pile of flapjacks.
